Your new metal sign is raw steel and has not been sealed, unless specified differently.  Any fingerprints or moisture that this piece is exposed to, will create rust.  To keep the current look of your sign, you will need to follow these steps, and click the images to purchase.

1.  If you are removing existing rust, use white vinegar in a spray bottle, and soak the rusted area.  Let sit for a few seconds, and wipe off.  Continue process until rust has been removed.  The newer the rust, the easier it is to remove so get on it as soon as you notice it!

2.  Remove any excess oils and moisture by cleaning your sign with Goof Off.  Use a rag, such as an old t-shirt, as opposed to paper towels.

3.  Once you have cleaned your metal, you'll want to spray it with a clear enamel sealer.  This may need to be re-applied every so often, just to be safe.  Make sure to apply an even coat.
